GLOBAL WAVE are filling up the diary again for 2023/24 We have finally finished the new E.P ‘Song of the Quetzal’ -the follow up to our debut album ‘Original Love’. Much of the music was composed in Costa Rica. I have enormous gratitude for the inspiration from that beautiful country, friends, musicians, waves and the Pura vida! I hope I brought some of that sunshine back in this music!
We’re lining up a mini tour of the South West UK starting with the Canteen in Bristol on 29th March!

Post 2020
I was very fortunate to be stuck on a Pacific beach during the lockdowns! with all the uncertainty and flight cancellations I stayed for nearly 2 years on the other side of the world. Then the work kicked in when the borders opened to an influx of wealthy Europeans, mainly from London! …But it was also a time when many of us were questioning what we were doing with our lives. Should we switch paths, jobs, countries, values? I thought its a great life, surfing in the day, playing music at night, with the international musicians who’d been stranded there like me. maybe I should stay here forever….
Then earlier this year, I got a message from Dan from Bossaphonik in Oxford, great DJ /promoter and supporter of my music “Can Global Wave play at their 16th Anniversary this year?” I said yes automatically.. Then thought we havent played since the London Jazz festival 2019! I don’t even know if I have a band anymore and I’d have to give up the well paid sunset wedding on paradise beach and no more surfing in warm waters?? Difficult!
Then, suddenly I had a vision of a British summer, bird songs, sunsets, the uneven days and nights, and thought about the rich musical heritage (from the whole world), the creativity, playing on a stage again…. I got homesick, I missed famiy, friends, my band, the gigs… So I flew back for that event. Thanks Dan and crew it was great!!
Check out the new video of an old song, “Houses of the Sun”, recorded on the last Sirius B album, ‘Casa de Sol’. The video was created this Costa Rica with surf photogapher Gary Lynn and myself, for a project of music with positive messages for these difficult times!

The track “Raining in my life” from my last album release ‘Original Love’ has had an amazing reworking by Andrew Nicholas of Born74. The track will be out on my next album! Which is presently in the planning stage!
